வோடோபோனுக்கு வரிச் சலுகை வேண்டுமாம்

Gordon Brown writes to Manmohan on Vodafone: British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has written to his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh about a tax claim on Vodafone Group, even as  India has said that the matter is in the court and no decision has been taken. Indian income tax authorities are seeking USD 2 billion in capital gains tax from Vodafone over its purchase of Hutchison Essar Ltd, three years ago.

While influential Countries are almost dictating what our Government  should do on matters like this, our Government is not doing anything to improve the finances of BSNL.  The USO Fund is reduced considerably and the Finance Ministry is not willing to waive or reduce the license fee even for the Rural Services we have given which makes us to invest more, in some cases even about Rs.1 Lakh for a single connection.

ஹட்சின்சன் நிறுவனத்தைக் கைப்பற்றிய வகையில் வோடோபோன் நிறுவனம் இரண்டு பில்லியன் அமெரிக்க டாலர்கள் வரியாகச் செலுத்த வேண்டும் என்று வருமான வரித் துறை கூறியுள்ளது. இதன்மீது வழக்கும் நடக்கிறது. இதனிடையில் இது தொடர்பாக பிரிட்டன் பிரதமர் கார்டன் ப்ரௌவுன் நமது பிரதமருக்கு கடிதம் எழுதியுள்ளாராம். 
      வளர்ந்த மேலை நாடுகள் இதுபோன்ற விஷயங்களில் இப்டிச் செய் என்று கிட்டத்தட்ட நமக்கு கட்டளை இடுவது போல் நடக்கின்றன. ஆனால் இந்திய அரசோ நமது நிதி நிலையைப் பாதுகாக்க எந்த உதவியும் செய்வதில்லை. USO Fund வெகுவாக குறைக்கப் பட்டு உள்ளது. கிராமப் புறங்களில், சில நேரங்களில் ஒரு தனி இணைப்புக்கு நாம் சுமார் ஒரு லட்சம் ரூபாய் வரை செலவழிக்க நேரிடுகிறது. ஆனால் நிதி அமைச்சகமோ கிராமங்களில் தரப்படும் இணைப்புகளுக்கு லைசென்ஸ் கட்டணத்தை ரத்து செய்யவோ அல்லது குறைக்கவோ தயாராயில்லை.
