Now in Orissa, may be soon in all over India

The state owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) plans to introduce video streaming for its 3G subscribers in Orissa.
The company has started the testing for rolling out this value added service (VAS), the tariff for which is being finalized, sources said.
Video streaming would be available on 3G platform and the subscribers can access different live television channels by making a video call.
A customer would be able to view DD (national), DD (Oriya) and B4U initially. The basket is proposed to be expanded with the inclusion of channels like OTV, ETV (Oriya) and Kamayab channels among others. However, the final decision on inclusion of new channels hasn’t been taken yet, sources added.
The company had earlier slashed the price of the 3G data card to expand its 3G subscriber base.
Simultaneously, the company has revamped its caller tune portfolio to make it more customer friendly. ‘On Mobile’ has been roped in as the content provider for this purpose.
The customers can access and purchase caller tunes by way of IVRS or SMS. The song codes, which are available in website of BSNL, can be viewed before actual purchase.
Besides, ‘M-search’ (mobile search) has been introduced by BSNL by which a customer can call 56799 and say the movie name or the song to choose one. Alternatively, the subscribers can SMS initial few words of a song or movie to 56799 and choose from a list of songs.
The subscribers can also have time based BSNL tunes in which they can set different caller tunes for different periods of the day.
In addition, the company has made shuffle pack available where any customer calling a user would randomly listen one out of the three tunes redefined as part of the pack. The charge has been fixed at Rs 25 per month both for the pre-paid and post paid customers, sources added.
