PENSION REVISION
IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE PROPOSAL FOR OUR PENSION REVISION WAS NOT TAKEN UP BY THE CABINET WHICH MET YESTERDAY, THE 16TH DECEMBER. NEXT MEETING MAY BE ON NEXT THURSDAY, 23RD. THE CONFUSION CREATED BY PEOPLE LIKE RAJA, SIDHARTH BEHURA, PRADEDEP BAIJAL ETC. HAS COME IN OUR WAY. FOR THE CABINET, POLITICAL ISSUES ARE IMPORTANT. SERVICE MATTER GETS LEAST PREFERENCE. WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR SOME MORE TIME.

[22.12.2010]The Minister meets the leaders at last.
The Telecom Minister, Shri Kapil Sibal has met the leaders at last. However, he has not met any leader of the trade union, but has met the leaders of the private telecom companies on 21-12-2010. The Minister could not find time to meet the leaders of the BSNL trade union and discuss the issues they raised about the growth of BSNL, when they went on strike. However, when the leaders of the private telecom companies quarreled among themselves, the Minister was quick to meet them. Some time back, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the promoter of the BPL mobiles, openly charged that Ratan Tata got liciense and spectrum at a very cheap price. Their quarrel continued for many days. Now the minister has called the owners of the private telecom companies, like Ratan Tata (Tata Teleservices), Anil Ambani (Reliance Communication) and Sunil Mittal (Bharati Airtel) and requested them not to quarrel among themselves, since it is affecting the growth of the telecom industry. When the 3 lakh employees went on struggle, the Minister did not act. But when a few capitalists made noise, the Minister went running to meet them.

PENSION REVISION DELAYED
[ Black Mules in Sanchar Bhavan? ]
On 10th December 2010, our Dy GS was told by an officer in the Directorate that Summary of the proposal for pension revision was again sent to the Cabinet Secretary on the previous day. We flashed the news.
BSNLEU put up on their website on 10th that
"the file has now been sent from DoT back to Cabinet Secretary”.
Mr. S Basu, GS of AIBSNLREA informed through his website on 15th that “ the proposal is very much with the Cabinet Secretary. Due to the present political scenario we have to wait some more time…”
Now, we understand that the people in Directorate are still waiting for approval of the summary by Mr. Kapil Sibal, the minister in charge of Communications now.
We do not understand why the delay. IT SEEMS THAT there are some black mules in Sanchar Bhavan. They delay any matter regarding pension revision so that the ITS officers will mis-utilize the case to delay their absorption in BSNL. These black mules are serving the interest of 1500 officers only. Some time back, they advised FNTO leader to write a letter asking for pension revision in CDA pattern. They do much harm to thousands of BSNL staff retired prior to 1-1-2007 as well as ITS officers themselves.
We hope that Mr. Kapil Sibal, the able and efficient Minister
will not tolerate such tactics.

The news are based upon learning, seems, understand and what not?
Then why should we get perturbed when something else comes out?
Can we expect a mango by harvesting Babul tree?
Wisdom lies in getting the work done and not in excuses, when it will be understood?
However, we do not blame anyone, as we firmly believe that our collective job is to get Pension Revision and not to earn political mileage. We are nearing to our target.. let us wait for some more time.
