IDA Rates may be slightly increased for BSNL Employees from 1-1-2015

1-1-2015 முதல் BSNL ஊழியர்களுக்கு IDA சற்றே கூடலாம்

All India Consumer Price Index (IW) is based on weighted average of prices of consumer goods & services calculates on average for specified months of September, October & November 2014 issued by the Department of Labour Bureau by taking price changes for each item in the predetermined basket of goods.

Now, as per All India Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers - CPI(IW) issued by Department of Labour Bureau, CPI has not been increased any point for September & October 2014 months, which is to be taken for January 2015(01-01-2015) Industrial Dearness Allowance (IDA) rates.

If there is an increase in AICPI index records for November 2014 for about 1 point, IDA rates will expect for an increase of 1.9% from present Industrial DA (IDA) rates and moves to 100.53, if there is a a drop of 4 points in AICPI will also result an increase of 1% from present rate of 98.1% for BSNL employees from 01.01.2015.

The expected increased IDA rates, if any for BSNL PSU employees from January 2015 will be confirmed after getting average price index number of November 2014 on 31-12-14, then after Department of Public Enterprises will issue the orders for increased IDA rates from 01.01.2015, and have a look for Old Industrial Dearness Allowance(IDA) rates from 01.01.2007 of BSNL Employees.

BSNL - A Star of Landline & Broadband Services, Winner of Internet User Hearts in India

BSNL Continues the Top Position for Landline & Broadband Services with Lowest Tariff Rates

BSNL Rocks again in Landline Connection Density across PAN India Keeping BSNL Broadband Connections ranking on Top cards. As per the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) report regarding Telecom subscription data as on 31st Oct 2014 which was released 5th Dec 2014, BSNL stands on Top level in both Landline & Broadband Connection base.

There is dip in wireless connection of BSNL in the same report, Still we have to appreciate BSNL continues as Telecom Leader for keeping its mark in our hearts. Coming to the number game as per TRAI report total telephone subscriber base for both urban and rural areas has an increase of 0.18% and 1.03% for the month of October, in numbers Telephone subscriber base as on Oct 31st is about 388.05 million in urban areas and 392.05 million in rural areas.

Coming to wireless subscriber base we are having 382.50 million (0.20%) to 386.57 million (1.06%) for both urban and rural areas. So, here the market shares of top 3 service providers in wired and wireless telephone connections. BSNL is having 63.13%, MTNL 12.93% and Bharti Airtel 12.41% for Land Line Telephone Connections Share.

Coming to both Wired and Wireless Broadband services, Top Three Contenders are BSNL with 24.15%, Bharti Airtel at 21.85% and Vodafone at 17.87% market share. BSNL can be considered as an rural telephony emperor. It will not be exaggeration that without BSNL rural and remote places telephone connections are not even possible. That is people living at rural and remote places may not be going to contribute to our national GDP…That’s is BSNL.. Keeping the strengths in conscious BSNL has to check its backlogs and rather than thinking in a monotonous way…should come out and Drive Digital India as catalyst…for tomorrow.

Retirement Age to be Reduced from 60 to 58?

December 10, 2014
Is the Central Government Planning to Reduce Retirement Age?

A popular English daily reported on the 28th of last month that the Central Government is giving serious thoughts about reducing the retirement age of its employees. The news has created a big buzz among the employees working under Central Government.

It was said that the proposal is part of the Government’s strategy to reduce non-plan expenses. It was mentioned that a senior official said that the move will help giving employment opportunities to new people under the new recommendations to be suggested by the 7th Pay Commission.

In 1998, the Vajpayee Government raised the retirement age for Central Government employees from 58 to 60. The subsequent UPA government proposed plans to raise it further from 60 to 62, but the plans were then dropped. The retirement age was raised from 55 to 58 in 1962.

The article said that BJP’s manifesto, which had promised to rationalise and converge ministries, departments and other arms of the government, could implement such tough reforms. But, our investigations and enquiries say that the Government has no such plans. We aren’t aware of a debate that was held in any office, including the PMO, over this issue.

Recently, the State Government of Haryana reduced the retirement age of its employees. The news had probably started because they thought the Centre might implement similar policy.

It is worth mentioning that none of the employee associations and federations raised a voice or expressed an opinion about this issue.

We hope that the Prime Minister is aware of the responsibilities and financial commitments of a Central Government employee who has an average service period of 30 years.
